HOOD EXTENDS TIGERS STAY

Castleford Tigers are delighted to announce that Liam Hood has signed a one-year contract extension with the club, keeping him at The OneBore Stadium until the end of the 2027 Super League season.
The Scotland International joined the Tigers from Wakefield ahead of the 2026 campaign and will now head into his second season in black and amber.

Hood made 17 appearances across all competitions during his first year at Cas, crossing for four tries despite an injury-disrupted campaign. The experienced hooker will continue to bring valuable leadership to the squad as preparations build for 2027.
Speaking about extending his stay, Hood said: “I'm really pleased to have extended for another year. I was frustrated with how I personally went last year with injuries and not finding my best form, and also how we went as a team as I knew we could be so much better but the club has made some great signings and I can’t wait to get back in and hopefully have a great year.”
Director of Rugby Chris Chester added: “Liam is an experienced player who brings composure, leadership and a winning mentality to our squad. We’re delighted to have him on board for 2027 as we continue to strengthen the group and move this club forward.”
Hood’s extension adds further experience to the Tigers’ squad as he looks to put his injury frustrations behind him and make his mark in 2027.
