LINO PENS TWO YEAR TIGERS DEAL

Castleford Tigers are delighted to announce the signing of Mason Lino from Wakefield Trinity for the 2027 season and beyond. The 32 year old half-back will make the move to The OneBore Stadium after agreeing a two year deal with the club.
A vastly experienced playmaker with over 160 first grade appearances to his name, Lino brings a wealth of Super League and NRL experience to the Tigers squad as we continue to build a competitive team for the future.
Born in Samoa, Lino began his professional career in the NRL with the New Zealand Warriors before making the move to Newcastle Knights, gaining valuable experience at the highest level of the game. He has also represented Samoa on the international stage, earning three Test caps between 2016 and 2019.
Since arriving in England, Lino has become a proven performer in the British game, spending the last six seasons with Wakefield Trinity. During that time, he has made over 120 appearances for Trinity, scoring over 450 points and playing a key role in their success, including their 2024 1895 Cup triumph at Wembley Stadium.
A composed and creative half-back known for his kicking game, game management and ability to control the tempo of a match, Tigers Director of Rugby Chris Chester was excited at the prospect of Lino joining the Tigers and pulling on the famous black and amber jersey.
"I’m delighted to bring Mason to the Castleford Tigers", said Chester.
"Mason is a very smart rugby league player with a great kicking game.
Mase is a great leader on and off the field and a player that every time he goes onto that pitch, he competes hard. I know how much Mason is looking forward to coming to Castleford and I know the impact he will have too on the playing group."
Mason Lino will be proudly sponsored by Trinity House Orthodontics for the 2027 and 2028 Betfred Super League seasons.
