Dean Jones Menzies Distribution Solutions Chief Operating Officer Joins the Board at Castleford Tigers

Castleford Tigers are delighted to announce the appointment of Dean Jones to our Board of Directors. Jones strengthens the clubs off field operations, bringing with him a wealth of experience and business expertise.

And he was happy to be adding his knowledge to the board moving forward.

"From a personal perspective, I'm a local lad. I moved away 20 years ago and recently moved back 3 years ago. I started coming with my two sons and got hooked again, so from a personal perspective I'm a fan. I feel privileged to be involved, there's not many people that can say they've come and done this. As I say, I'm a local lad, it's a Rugby League community, and I'm really proud to be here."

"From a business perspective, we're a national business but we're heavily invested in the community of Castleford and Normanton. We started with a sponsorship programme, and that has grown year on year and will continue to grow. It's the feeling of being part of the DNA of the community, so it's really important to me. My job as part of the board is not understanding what goes on on the field, that's Ryan Carr's job, and we trust Ryan to do that. He's got a really, really good plan. We just have to be patient. My job is to try and work with the board to create the best conditions for the club that we can to flourish and continue to grow."

"The detail that Ryan uses is immense. We're in transition, and we have to support that transition. As a fan, I get as frustrated with the results as anyone but I see the plan. And we've got to trust and believe in that plan, and I do. We've been involved as a sponsor, we're currently in the middle of our second season, and there's so much that has happened in that 18 months in terms of improvements and investment. And I can see that there's plans for more as well."

"It's really exciting. I met Martin Jepson in London a few months ago and the amount of effort and work and investment he's put into the club, because he doesn't have to just lift the bonnet and do a bit of a retune, the engine needs a bit of a rebuild. And that rebuild is on it's way."

"There's a lot going on at the club. I can't wait for us to improve, I think next season we'll be a force with the recruitment we've made, I really do believe that. I'm excited for what lays ahead."
