JOB VACANCY: COMMERCIAL MANAGER

We are recruiting an experienced commercial manager to work alongside our Commercial Director to grow the department.

Role Overview

Castleford Tigers are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Commercial Manager to support the continued growth of the Club's commercial partnerships, sponsorship portfolio and business development activities.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in delivering commercial revenue, maintaining exceptional relationships with existing partners, identifying new business opportunities, and enhancing the Club's commercial offering.

As part of the role, you will be expected to work all home matchdays and selected Club events throughout the year, ensuring partners receive an outstanding experience while supporting the delivery of commercial activations.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage relationships with existing commercial partners, ensuring contractual rights are fulfilled and partnerships continue to grow.
- Identify and secure new sponsorship, advertising and commercial revenue opportunities.
- Work closely with the Commercial Director to develop and deliver the Club's commercial strategy.
- Prepare proposals, presentations and commercial packages tailored to prospective partners.
- Negotiate sponsorship agreements and commercial contracts.
- Manage the renewal process for existing partners, maximising retention and revenue.
- Coordinate matchday hospitality and sponsorship activations to deliver exceptional partner experiences.
- Attend networking events, business functions and community events to represent Castleford Tigers.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Marketing, Media, Hospitality and Operations to
deliver commercial campaigns.
- Monitor commercial performance and provide regular reporting to the Commercial Director.
- Maintain accurate records, sales pipelines and revenue forecasts.
- Support the delivery of Club events, fundraising initiatives and additional commercial projects as required.


Person Specification

Essential

- Proven experience in commercial sales, sponsorship, business development or 
account management in a sporting environment.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Demonstrable experience achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and professional approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Full UK driving licence.

 Desirable 

- Experience working within professional sport or the events industry.
- Knowledge of rugby league and the sports sponsorship landscape.
- Experience managing hospitality or corporate events.
- Marketing or digital commercial experience.

Working Hours

This is a full-time role based at The Onebore Stadium, Castleford.

Due to the nature of professional sport, flexibility is essential. The successful candidate will be required to work all home matchdays, selected away fixtures where required, evenings, weekends and Club events as part of their duties. Time off in lieu will be provided where appropriate.
