Celebrating School Sport Week: Our Schools Shine at the Big Dance Off!

As part of our commitment to supporting National School Sport Week 2026, Castleford Tigers Foundation is proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of our partner schools at this year’s Big Dance Off — a national competition bringing together primary and secondary schools from across the UK.

The Big Dance Off gives young people a rare opportunity to perform in a professional theatre, building confidence, teamwork and creativity. With only two schools from each region progressing to the prestigious National Final in Oxford, the standard is always exceptionally high.

This year, all our schools were coached by Michaela and Laura, our dance specialists at Castleford Tigers Foundation, and their hard work truly shone. Every school delivered an outstanding performance, with Brigshaw High School missing out on a place in the final by just two points. Our primary schools were also incredibly close and we even had a regional champion.

Kippax Greenfields claimed the top spot in Yorkshire and travelled to Oxford to represent the region on the national stage. Performing alongside 32 schools from across the country, they showcased their talent with pride. Although they didn’t take home the national title, their performance was exceptional and a moment they will never forget.

A huge well done to Kippax Greenfields, Kippax North, Swillington, Aberford Primary and Brigshaw High School, who represented our partnership brilliantly and embodied everything School Sport Week is about: joy, movement, teamwork and confidence.

The Big Dance Off continues to be a fantastic opportunity for children to express themselves, develop new skills and experience the excitement of performing in front of a live audience.
