Head Physio Tom Pearson can provide the following update on the current status of several first team players as they continue their rehabilitation and recovery programmes.
Fletcher Rooney is currently recovering following hamstring surgery and is expected to return in approximately 3-4 weeks.
George Hill continues rehabilitation after suffering an ulnar fracture, with an estimated return timeframe of 10-12 weeks.
Mikaele Ravalawa - Knee Injury - Monitoring progress weekly time scale for return 2-3 weeks
Joe Westerman remains unavailable following concussion protocols and is expected to return within 2-3 weeks.
Liam Hood is recovering from a neck injury and is currently projected to return in 4-5 weeks.
Blake Taaffe continues his long-term recovery following an ACL injury and remains on track for a return during the 2027 season.
Blake is now four months into his rehabilitation programme, with performance staff extremely pleased with the progress he has made so far.
Long-term injuries can often present significant physical and mental challenges for athletes, particularly when they occur early in a season. Despite this setback, Blake has approached his rehabilitation with professionalism throughout and continues to apply himself exceptionally well on a daily basis, demonstrating both strong character and a clear determination to return stronger.
His commitment and hard work have recently seen him successfully pass return-to-run testing, allowing him to begin straight-line running work back out on the field as part of the next stage of his recovery.
The performance staff remain very encouraged by Blake’s progress to date, with his rehabilitation continuing to progress exactly as planned.
He remains firmly on course for a full return to play in 2027.
