Congratulations to £1000 winner Paul Lenihan!

As lots of you will be aware, ahead of the 2026 Centenary season, we launched our new ‘Project 26’ weekly draw partnership with NYCDA. By becoming a member of the new partnership, and joining the NYCDA Weekly Draw, you are helping with our youth player and community development activities across Castleford. One such supporter who came with us on this journey was long standing fan Paul Lenihan.

As you would expect we regularly speak to winners of prizes, but not everyone is keen on publicity. So it was great to speak to Paul recently to initially inform him of his £1000 win. Paul now resides in Hyde, Greater Manchester and by his own admission doesn’t get to many games, but his passion for the club goes back more than 40 years and he was only too happy to do his bit to help promote the fantastic work the club does in its community.

It was great to head to Hyde to meet Paul in person to hear all about his Castleford RLFC memories and see his treasure trove of club memorabilia. His standout memory from all of this was the trip to Wembley for the win over Hull KR in the 1986 Challenge Cup Final, from which he proudly wore his cap for the photo opportunity.
