Looking ahead to 2026: Stadium improvements update

Stadium improvements are progressing as per our pre-season improvements plan. To date the construction teams have been working hard and completed the following works:
- Home and Away changing room refurbishment.
- Main entrance way refurbishment.
- Officials, drug testing rooms, toilets and main under stadium corridor refurbishment.
- Wrestle room refurbishment including a new ventilation system to reduce the risk of viruses amongst the playing squad.
- Carried out major works to construct the 1926 Lounge.
- Fire alarm and smoke detection installed under the main stand.
- And last but not least refurbished our award winning grounds man’s office - Stu’s Coffee Club!!
As part of the on going works the new training pitch is almost 70% complete with works ongoing to ready the area for the artificial turf installation planned for the end of January, new lighting and fencing is also planned to be completed prior to the start of the new season. The pitch will comply with both RFL and WRU construction standards which will allow both academy, women’s, reserve grade, PDRL and LDRL games to be played on it. The pitch will also be used to generate additional revenue streams through external hire to facilitate 5-aside football games and use by local schools. The construction teams including a couple of ex-Cas players worked extremely hard to get the sub-surface and tarmac installed in time to beat the winter weather and to provide a hard standing for the Castleford Tigers bonfire night celebrations!!

To further improve the match day experience we have demolished all of the existing turnstiles, buildings and removed all temporary accommodation to the back of the main stand, along with drainage repairs, heavy maintenance to the rear of the stand and the resurfacing of the whole area will create an area where we can facilitate live acts/events during match days once completed prior to the start of the new season.
New fan entry points will be constructed adjacent to the rear of in goal area of the new training pitch on Wheldon Road along with new security fencing, this again will open the grounds up to further improve people flow.

New player and coach dugout areas are currently being constructed which will be able to accommodate all players, coaches and support staff and allow the removal of the unsightly UPVC player areas!!

Works will start mid-January to refurbish the internal and external cladding on the Wheldon Road stand and finally works are ongoing to refurbish the toilets around the ground.
The old telegraph poles will be removed and the unsightly overhead cables will be relocated to newly installed underground ducting.
Four new bar and food kiosks are currently being manufactured which will be positioned around the ground to further improve the service of hot and cold beverages and will allow the club to serve up and sell our own food. A lot of work is going into this project to ensure that we meet all of the food and hygiene standards and ensure that we will be serving up quality food!! This again will provide revenue back in to the club on match days, previously our revenue from this function was minimal!!

There is lots of good work and much needed improvements currently being undertaken, everybody within the club is working extremely hard to ensure that these improvements are completed for the start of the new season to improve the match day experience for our fans and to improve facilities for our players and coaching staff.
