Luke Hooley got us underway with a spiralling boot towards the Red Devils, the kickj was safely collected as we got the game underway.

Salford had the first major chance as Nixon Putt gave away a penalty for a ball steal after a smart offload from Nene Macdonald. Marc Sneyd gathered the ball on the last but Jason Qareqare was there to get a hand in.

Salford continued the pressure on the Cas line with a short kick from Marc Sneyd, fullback Luke Hooley safely gathered the ball however another chance for the Red Devils.

After an onslaught from the Salford attack Sam Stone found the whitewash after a short pass to put the Red Devils in front after 10 minutes in the first half.Salford pounced again minutes later as an offload from Brad Singleton allowed Amir Bourouh to dive over to make the score 12-0 to the home side.

Cas eventually had a chance of their own through a great pass from Jacob Miller that found Innes Senior who crashed over, however the winger had the try disallowed for a foot in touch.

The first points for the Tigers came through Sam Wood who hit a crash ball from Jacob Miller to add the Cas’ first points of the day. Danny Richardson added the extras to put Cas a try behind.

The Tigers struck next on the right edge as Danny Richardson bounced off a Salford defender, the halfback found Luke Hooley who tipped Jack Broadbent allowing the centre to dash over with 8 minutes to go in the first half.

Salford got on the board once again through Nene Macdonald who outjumped an oblivious Luke Hooley to put the home side 18-10 up at half time.

The Red Devils had the first spell of field position, but Kallum Watkins dropped the ball after contact from Jacob Miller.

Another kick from Sneyd troubled Cas as Sam Stone struck again to add the first points of the first half in front of the Salford fans.

Cas eventually managed to gain some field position after 15 minutes and took advantage through captain Joe Westerman to put the Tigers back in the game.

Jack Ormondroyd spent ten minutes in the bin after a late high shot on the kicker, Cas couldn’t teake advantage however, after an incorrect play of the ball by Liam Horne.

Joe Westerman made a lucky escape after a high shot with 10 minutes to go, Marc Sneyd took advantage adding the 2 points.

A spirited Tigers effort allowed the Fords to crash over with 2 minutes to play through Liam Horne to put Cas 4 points behind.

Kallum Watkins gave his best attempt at slowing the play down with less than a minute to go but was eventually sent to the bin for a professional foul.

A last play gasp for the Tigers nearly edged the game in the dying seconds but it was just too much for the Fords.
