Castleford Tigers can confirm that Jake Trueman will sadly miss the rest of the 2021 season and will have surgery on his back following a persistent issue.

The 22-year-old halfback will have the operation next week and will be ruled out for the remainder of the 2021 Betfred Super League season.

Daryl Powell confirmed the news in his weekly pre-match press conference and said: “It’s been really difficult for Jake, and he sadly won’t play again this year which for us is obviously disappointing.

"He is a high-quality player and we wish him all the best with the surgery and recovery."

Speaking about the news, Jake Trueman said: “It’s gutting that I’ll miss the rest of the season, but I’m pleased it’s hopefully going to get sorted. I’ll work hard on my rehab and I’m looking forward to next season.”

Castleford Tigers would like to wish Jake a very speedy recovery, and we look forward to seeing him in action for the Fords in 2022.
