Tigers return to The Jungle
Today marked the first step of the squad’s return to action as Tigers players and staff assembled at The Jungle for the first time since March.
Following confirmation that the Betfred Super League will restart on August 2nd – with Castleford first in action the following weekend in fixtures soon to be revealed – the first team squad and backroom staff returned to the training ground today for their first round of COVID-19 testing.
Undertaken with the competition’s official COVID-19 testing partner Screen4, it saw every member of the squad and staff in accompanying roles undergo temperature checks and initial testing for the coronavirus throughout the day, with results expected later this week.
Testing comes ahead of the squad’s official return to training on Monday, 20th July when head coach Daryl Powell and his team will hit the training field looking to build on a positive start to the season that sees the Tigers sit joint top of the Betfred Super League table with five wins from their opening seven rounds.
