Head Coach Lee Radford has declared his 21-man squad list for this Friday’s Betfred Super League game against Huddersfield Giants, which will be the Tigers’ match in support of Armed Forces Day.

Castleford’s squad news is sponsored and brought to you by GeoShield.

Our First Team are back home and in action for the second time in five days when they take on Ian Watson’s high-flying Giants. The Club is delighted to be welcoming members of the Armed Forces community with plenty planned ahead of kick-off around the ground.

Radford makes just two changes to the team he named for the Catalans game with Liam Watts missing out due to suspension, and Ryan Hampshire comes out of the squad due to an injury he picked up in Sunday’s game which is still being assessed.

Into the squad then is the returning Niall Evalds following a bicep injury which he picked up in a match against Leeds Rhinos in April, and Jason Qareqare has also come into contention for selection.

The Fords are focused on maintaining their good form following back-to-back wins over Toulouse away and Catalans at home, and further cementing our place in the top six of the league table.

Our home ground, The Mend-A-Hose Jungle has been a happy hunting ground in 2022 with six wins and only two defeats. With the hope of a fortress-like atmosphere, Radford’s charges will be aiming to build on the win over the Dragons and get two-home straight wins.

Meanwhile, the Giants are in sensational form recording six straight wins in the league, the latest of which came on Sunday away at Hull KR. They currently sit in third place in the standings and look likely to be in the post-season hunt.

The last time Tigers and Giants faced off was back in March, with Huddersfield holding off a fantastic Castleford come back from 18-0 down, but the then hosts grew back into the match off the back of a George Lawler sin-binning.

Cas will be hungry to keep their good recent form going, build on the good home record and get one back over the Giants on Friday night.
