Following a highly successful tenure overseeing the growth of the women’s game, Anfield leaves the club after five years in charge culminating in a raft of finals as well as winning the WSL in 2019.

Renowned for her commitment and outstanding work ethic, Lindsay will take time away from coaching the club side to spend time with her young family and focus on her role as Head of PE at De Lacy Academy.

Lindsay said: “It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve taken the decision to leave the Tigresses. The current Pandemic has led to vastly increased pressures and expectations on the women’s game, and I feel it is now the right time to step away. It has been an honour to work with such a talented and dedicated group of players and staff, all of whom I will continue to support from the sidelines.”

Anfield will continue to be involved as an assistant with the England Women’s Team in preparation for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.

Castleford Tigers Community Director Simon Fox, said, “Lindsay has been iconic in driving the women’s game forward, both in Castleford and nationally. Her high standards and outstanding worth ethic leave the women’s team well placed to take on the challenges of 2021. I have had a great working relationship with Lindsay and fully understand and support her reasons to step down. I think I speak for us all when I say she will be hugely missed in the sport. We wish her well and she remains very welcome at the club and The Mend-A-Hose Jungle.”

Assistant Coaches Marie Colley and Kirsty Moroney will take temporary charge of the Tigresses whilst the club seek a new Head Coach.
