Castleford Tigers will take on Hull Kingston Rovers on Sunday, 14th March in Adam Milner’s testimonial match.

The game will take place at Hull College Craven Park kicking off at 3pm and will also serve as a pre-season fixture ahead of the Tigers starting their Betfred Super League campaign two weeks later, on Sunday, 28th March.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this match will be played behind closed doors with no supporters in attendance, however, after working with Hull Kingston Rovers and Adam Milner’s testimonial committee – a live stream service of the game will be available on Castleford Tigers’ Facebook page for just £4.99. Purchasing this event will allow you to watch the match live and on-demand too.

All the money raised from supporters who purchase access to the live stream of the match from the club’s Facebook event will go directly to Adam Milner’s testimonial fund.

Milner has been an outstanding servant to the Tigers for over a decade, after making his debut in 2010, he has gone on to feature over 250 times for Castleford. Only club captain Michael Shenton has played more top-flight matches than Adam.

The 28-year-old is a proud product of Castleford’s Academy and has only ever played his domestic rugby with the Tigers, making him one of the club’s well-regarded #ONECLUB men. During his time with Castleford, he has gone on to become a key man in Daryl Powell’s team, lifting the League Leaders’ Shield and playing internationally for England on three occasions.

Adam Milner spoke to castlefordtigers.com about the fixture announcement and said: “It seems quite a long time, but it’s flown by has ten years, I always remember Danny Orr saying it’ll go fast my career, and it sure has done!

“I’m fortunate and lucky to be in the position that I am today, to get a game is a special moment for myself and I’m sure that the team and I are looking forward to games and the season starting!”

Whilst Adam would have loved to have held his match with plenty of the Fords’ faithful in the terraces, being able to live stream the game is a massive bonus.

“We have to count ourselves lucky that we have still been able to train and we have been able to get a game on, the fans are missing the rugby just as much as we are missing the fans. To be able to get my testimonial game on and for fans to be able to watch it is a perfect combo for myself and my testimonial.

”It has not really been the same playing rugby without the fans, our support has still been great even though you haven’t been able to come to the games and the sooner fans can be back the better.”

This pre-season match could offer Castleford fans their first looks at the newest Tigers added to Daryl Powell’s side with Niall Evalds, Suaia Matagi, Lewis Bienek and Jordan Turner potentially in match action on Sunday, 14th March.

Meanwhile, for Hull Kingston Rovers fans they too could see their newest faces run out, players such as Albert Vete, Brad Takairangi, Korbin Sims and Ryan Hall.

Adam Milner is expecting a tough test against the home side ahead of the 2021 season starting,

“It doesn’t come tougher than Hull KR at their place, especially with the recent weather I think it’s one of the coldest places that I’ve ever played rugby at! It’s going to be tough, I’m sure conditions will be tough to play in and KR have made some great signings as well, like us they will be ready to start.”
