Win a player-fit 2020 third shirt!
Tigers supporters who purchased this season’s third shirt are being given the opportunity to win one of the player-fit designs from the first team squad.
The amber-themed kit was revealed last year as part of the Club Castleford range and drew inspiration from the club’s rich history over close to a century, with the Tigers intending to wear the kit for the 2020 Dacia Magic Weekend.
Unfortunately, with the rugby league showpiece in May cancelled due to COVID-19, the club were forced to adjust their plans, with the shirt then set to be worn in the anticipated final match of the campaign against local rivals Wakefield to coincide with Remembrance Day.
A number of player-fit shirts for the first team squad were therefore printed with a traditional poppy on the chest before the club’s plans were again thwarted due to the premature conclusion of the Betfred Super League season.
With three new shirt designs for 2021 signed off before lockdown earlier this year and featuring some new sponsors, the club has been forced to accept there will be no further opportunities to reschedule plans and therefore the 2020 third shirt will go down in history as never been worn by the first team squad for a competitive match.
However, in recognition of Tigers supporters who purchased the design without having the chance to see it worn in action, the club will now be giving away a number of player-fit shirts as part of an end-of-season competition.
The shirts bear a poppy on the chest and the name and squad number of various first team players on the back and will be assigned randomly to the winners.
To enter the competition, simply post a picture of yourself wearing a 2020 third shirt on social media, either by commenting on the relevant post on the club’s official Facebook page or posting on Twitter and tagging @CTRLFC as well as the hashtag #ClubCasComp
The competition closes at midnight on Sunday, 6th December and the winners will be contacted W/C Monday, 7th December.
All remaining player-fit third shirts will then be made available to purchase via the club’s official eBay store, with the profits split between the Royal British Legion and the Tigers Community Foundation.
