Castleford Tigers’ fixture list has been revealed ahead of Betfred Super League restarting at the start of August.

The 2020 season will recommence behind closed doors at neutral venues (Emerald Headingley Stadium & Totally Wicked Stadium) initially with triple headers held over the course of two days, which will allow greater control of biosecurity by managing one venue rather than six during a round of fixtures. Weekly COVID-19 testing for our First Team has already begun in conjunction with Screen4.

Castleford have played seven rounds of this year’s campaign so far with a further 15 rounds to be played following on from the Super League Board decision for the resumption of the competition. After 22 rounds this will be followed by a top-four semi-final play-off and the winners of the semi-finals will contest the Betfred Super League Grand Final at the end of November.

Restarting with one match a week in August and September, the competition will hold catch-up games for clubs who delayed rounds earlier on in the year. Matches will come thick and fast in October and November with nine rounds scheduled, when it is hoped crowds can be in attendance. The significance of home crowds to clubs and fans also means that dates and venues in the back end of the campaign will be reviewed as the season progresses, in line with government advice and in discussion with host broadcaster, Sky Sports.

In August Sky Sports will show 21 Betfred Super League matches in 29 days, it means Fords fans will be able to watch all three of the Tigers matches in the restart month live on TV.
