Last Sunday the Tigresses secured their spot in the Women’s Super League semi-finals with five regular season games to go. The black and amber put 56 points past last season’s champions Wigan Warriors, with over 500 in attendance at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

This win keeps Castleford firmly at the top of the table with 16 points to their name.

Cas and Leeds last met in the Challenge Cup final three weeks ago, where the Tigresses lost 16-10 at the University of Bolton stadium.

However, earlier on in the season, Lindsay Anfield’s side did pick up an emphatic 27-0 win over Leeds at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

Despite Castleford having a strong squad, there are some significant injury blows. England internationals Sinead Peach and Tamzin Renouf have both been ruled out with injuries. They were joined by Olivia Grace who was ruled out last Thursday.

But the positive news coming out of camp is that Lucy Eastwood is back in the starting 13. Speaking about her return she said: “To get back out there and get back out with the girls who are absolutely amazing, it’s just a real positive and real delight.

“It would be nice to win them, it would be nice to out a few wrongs right it would be nice to get a really good performance against them, defensively and in attack, and to play how we play.”

Captain Claire Garner and Kirsty Higo also make their returns to the team.

Here’s the 17-player squad selected by head coach Lindsay Anfield…
