Captain Claire Garner expects a tough encounter as Castleford set sights on silverware.
Castleford Tigers Women have arrived in the south of France as they prepare to take on Deesses Catalanes for the HerRL Trophy.
Speaking on the bus ahead of this game, captain Claire Garner revealed there is huge excitement in the Tigers camp.
She said: “We are massively looking forward to this game with the Catalans. We expect a tough contest but I believe we are ready for it.
“They are relatively unknown to us which means we have to play our absolute best if we are to come away with the trophy.”
The half back also revealed that the entire squad is looking to perform at yet another Super League stadium. She said: “We are looking forward to playing in this historic ground. It’s not every day that you get to play in a Super League stadium – never mind in France.”
The Tigresses will be eyeing their first piece of silverware with the game being played for the inaugural HerRL Trophy.
Gates at the Stade Gilbert Brutus will open at 3pm with the match kicking off at 3.15pm. It will be the curtain raiser ahead of the men’s Super League game so, if you are down in Perpignan, make sure to come down early!
