The Mend-A-Hose Jungle is set to become the official home of Castleford Tigers Women.
With the 2019 Women’s Super League season about to kick off, Castleford Tigers are proud to announce that this year, the Tigresses will play all of their home games at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
In their first two years as a team, Castleford Tigers Women have played their home games at a range of different venues. In most recent times, the Tigresses have called Castleford RUFC their home.
However, 2019 marks the start of a new journey for the club which will see both the men and the women sharing the same stage.
Castleford’s Director of Rugby Jon Wells said: “I’m very pleased to announce that all of the women’s league games will be played at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle. This represents a great move from the club as it brings everyone under one roof.”
Head coach Lindsay Anfield also commented on the announcement and said: “We are very grateful to the club for giving us this unbelievable opportunity to play home games at the Jungle. This is a historic venue and the players will no doubt want to make not only the club but the entire town proud.”
The first home game for the women’s team is a West Yorkshire derby against Leeds Rhinos on Sunday the 28thof April. Kick off time has been set for 1pm.
Before that though, Castleford face three tough away games. The season kicks off this Sunday with a clash against York before a trip to Robins Park and an encounter with the Women’s Super League title holders, Wigan Warriors.
The Tigresses will then board a plane and head off to Perpignan where they take on the Catalans Dragons women’s team on Easter Monday.
