New Deal For Trueman

Castleford Tigers can confirm Jake Trueman has agreed a new four-year deal with the club.
The 2018 Super League Young Player of the Year will now remain with the club until the end of the 2022 season after signing new terms.
Trueman signed a three year extension at the start of 2018 but after a fantastic season in the first team, the half back has been rewarded.
The 19 year old played in 28 games last season for the Tigers as he filled the hole left by the 2017 Man of Steel, Luke Gale while the England half back was on the sidelines with a knee injury.
After joining Castleford at the start of the 2017 season from Bradford Bulls, Trueman made his first team debut later that year coming off the bench against St. Helens. That year the young half back made two other appearances and announced himself on the Super League scene against Wigan Warriors at the DW Stadium, scoring a hat-trick on his first ever Super League start.
Trueman never hesitated in signing his new deal after a wonderful 2018 season: “I’m very happy to get this new deal over the line, I now have my future for the next four years all sorted so I can now just focus on my rugby. When the offer got put in front of me I just could not turn the chance to extend my stay even longer here at Castleford. I got my opportunity this year because of a couple of injuries but my focus now is getting back into the team in 2019, we have some talented half backs in the team so competition for places is high.”
Tigers Head Coach, Daryl Powell is excited to have such a talented young player in his squad for the next four seasons: “Jake Trueman had an unbelievable first full season for us last year, he showed a maturity well beyond his years and his skill set continues to grow. I’m confident he will continue to be a player who develops because of his work ethic and who performs right at the top of his game over a number of years. He is no doubt an international player of the future and we all look forward to working with him to help him reach his rich potential. I am delighted he’s decided to stay for the next four years with the Castleford Tigers I think it shows we can keep our talented players as we look for a massive season in 2019.”
Jon Wells, Castleford’s Director of Rugby, is looking forward to the next four years of Trueman’s career here with the Tigers: “We are delighted to be able to confirm that Castleford Tigers have re-signed Jake Trueman on a new 4 year contract. Jake’s is one of the success stories in Super League this year. He has had an outstanding 2018; navigating the season with so much quality and composure, culminating in his England Knights selection as well as picking up well-deserved individual recognition as Super League’s Young Player of the Year last month.”
“If that is what he is capable of at 19, then I think it’s safe to say that all Tigers fans should be incredibly excited about what the next 4 years hold in store for Jake and this team. He is a humble young man and he has an incredible work ethic, something that is not altogether immediately apparent in some young men today. I have no doubt that he will continue to progress; he will inspire the young talent coming up behind him; and – with the squad that we are building – he will play at the highest level and in the biggest of games as a Tiger until at least the end of 2022."
